Hello and welcome back to CollinswoahsCorner my beautiful internet friends!
Like I told you all in my last blog this week will be filled with DIYs! All handmade gift ideas that you can make for your friends or significant others for Valentines Day! Yay!
Today I will be showing you how to make a cute Pokemon painted pot to make your greenery a little nerdier. So this is what you will need:
So to get started you need to decide what Pokemon you will be painting. Just like my last DIY post, I chose Bulbasaur just because my man love him so so so much! I recommend finding a good picture of your Pokemon on Google images or something to have a good reference. Once you have that, its time to get started!
First paint your pot the color of your chosen Pokemon’s skin and let it dry. Next you will need to use a pencil and sketch on your Pokemon’s features like so:
Once your Pokemon’s features are sketched on, it’s time to outline and paint them in. Make sure you let each color fully dry before applying the next. Make sure to also apply the appropriate number of coats to the pot so you get the crisp and bright colors. Once finished with all your painting let your pot fully dry. The next step is to take a brush and paint on your Modge Podge all over the pot, giving it a nice and even coat. This will dry clear and seal your pot, as well as make it appear shiny.
Now that your pot is painted and properly sealed you can decide to plant an actual plant or succulent in your pot. I personally don’t have the time to keep a plant alive (or the sunlight) and this is also a gift. I don’t want to set the expectation with my boyfriend that he MUST keep this plant alive or else. Now that’s just not nice or fun. So I opted to use to foam pot filler, a fake succulent and moss to make my pot look full and pretty. And this is what my finished product looks like:
And there you have it! I hope y’all enjoyed this DIY and like always, let me know what you think and if you do this DIY or something like it PLEASE leave pictures in the comments as well as let me know how it went 🙂 And until Friday, with another and final DIY of the week, stay classy and sassy friends! 😛
