Hey guys!
So I know I haven’t posted in a while and I know I’ve been sticking to more creative writing posts but today I just couldn’t hold it in any longer. Especially after taking another needed step back from everything.
This is what I got.
Now it definitely is not my largest haul but…
I have now finished the letter X AND the numbers.
Plus I hit 289 games. Out of 661 for those of you who forgot š Which means, I am now at 43.72% complete for the entire GameCube collection.
That just blows my mind! I wanted to get to 30% by the end of this year! I was at 20-something percent at the beginning of this year. And it’s all been in the wild hunting! Dang.
I have had the pleasure of being able to find a couple new game stores in the areas that I live/frequent that definitely have made this growth so much more possible. That and my amazing boyfriend and our wonderful trips to random places!
Well enough rambling about that…
So I am very proud to say I am picking off the sports games more and more. That is something that I’m finding to be more difficult than I anticipated because I had absolutely no idea that there were SO. MANY. SPORTS. GAMES. ON. GAMECUBE.
It’s honestly ridiculous. I can’t stand it. I thought you know NFL, Madden, NHL, NBA, NCAA, FIFA, Tony Hawk, Tiger Woods and then I’m done. For the most part. Nope. It’s like everyone decided to make a sports game. And now I just have to own them all since they all came out for the Nintendo GameCube. Which is funny because if you know me, I dislike all sports ball games and types unless it’s skateboarding, NASCAR or bowling. But here I am getting 16 million different football games… š
So my collecting has basically gotten to the point of, “Have I ever seen this game before in person?” If the answer is yes, I usually pass on it unless it’s a better deal that I have seen it before. If the answer is no, then I snatch it up into my arms and stroke the spine and only parting with it long enough to check out and then I cradle it all the way back home. I still find a thrill and thankfully I’m still finding games almost everywhere I go when looking for GameCube games. The only exceptions to this is when they don’t have GameCube games or it’s a Half Price Books…
Now my best scores in this haul is definitely X2, the X-man game, 2006 FIFA and my Wii Fit balance board. Now, before you judge too harshly I’ll explain why.
X2 and 2006 FIFA have been two games I have been searching high and low to find ever since I decided I wanted to close out certain areas of the collection alphabet. They have been the two that have alluded me the most and I am so glad to finally have those little buggers off my back and on my shelves!
Now the Wii Fit balance board is a little weird, I know. But a lot of places don’t sell them anymore. And most of my things are still packed away in a little garage all over the place since I’m back home with my family so finding it has been a lost cause. But buying one has proven to be just as difficult until now. I found one for $7! Which is great in my mind. I remember them selling for between $10-$15 when I last saw them which has honestly been a couple of years. So go me in my mind.
Stay classy and sassy guys!
