Life Update!

Check out what I’ve been up to lately!

Hello all!

So what’s been new with me…

Well first and foremost if you didn’t see my big announcement blog… I opened my Etsy shop! NerdCentral13! Well guys, I SOLD MY FIRST ITEM! I had a lovely lady contact me about making a custom order for her. What was that custom order you ask?! A Lilligant pot. Like the Pokemon! Well I finished her up and shipped her out so take a look!

As you obviously can see, I do take custom orders and I am happy to attempt any and all feats you might request of me!

I also have had the pleasure of seeing some pretty cool places.

First up was Loveland Castle in Loveland, Ohio.

This is where Mathew and I most recently were able to see Mikey Mason perform. Which was amazing. Like always!

Mathew was sweet enough to take us on a little day trip to Louisville for Memorial day, which I picked up A LOT of games if you did not see that, CHECK IT OUT. Don’t worry. I’ll wait… we got to see some amazing views of the city, both fell in love with Louisville. But only at a distance. I will love visiting but do NOT want to move there. It just seemed so empty almost every where we went. It was strange. Sadly I didn’t get any pictures but I did get to enjoy the day with my man and that’s what matters. Some times its better to live in the moment than to document the moment. And it just means we will have to go back just so I can capture some of those magnificent views on camera!

And last but not least, Mathew and I made a trip out to Indy to pick up his mom from the airport and we were able to go a little early and make it to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to go to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. This was an amazing experience. Not only did we get to check out the museum BUT there was also a couple events going on that day which meant we got to see some cars out on the track. I was just overwhelmed by everything. It was too cool to watch the cars out on the track! They also had an event with Jaguar and Range Rover where they had some really nice Jags that YOU COULD DRIVE! But sadly we didn’t have enough time nor did we have closed toed shoes to do the event.

Mathew and I have been trying to make sure we have at least one adventure a month and I would say we have done a pretty great job at that so far.

I just can’t say enough how lucky am I to have this life. I love what I get to do and experience and I am forever thankful for that. Especially because of who I get to experience these moments with.

Let’s see where the next month or so takes us.

Collection Update!

See what I’ve picked up and how my collection has grown!

Hello friends!

So it’s been a bit since my last collection update. And I have been a very busy girl.

This is what I’ve picked up.

IMG_0534IMG_0529IMG_0523

I was lucky enough to pick up the bulk of the games in Louisville on my recent day trip with Mathew ❀

I did make a big decision though!

So with the generation that I”m currently focused on, I made the choice that I’m still going to go with a full GameCube collection but I’m only going to collect Xbox exclusives and everything else that’s not on GameCube on PS2. So that meant getting rid of quite a few games…

IMG_0613

Some of the games still on the shelf will go eventually but I just can’t stand to part with them just yet.

My GameCube collection just recently passed the 230 mark. That’s over 34% complete with the entire collection.

I’m slowly crossing games off the list that are a part of my new 2017 goal of completing certain letters of the alphabet. Soon I’m going to have to come up with my third 2017 game collecting goal.

Wow, I just have to say I am very blessed to be able to live this life and be able to afford to purchase these games and collect like I do. With that being said, I am going to be slowing down on the collecting front. Some things have come up in my life and I just need to take a step back for a few months. But don’t worry. I will still be looking and purchasing if the price is right πŸ˜‰

I am very excited and anxious to see what happens next with this collection. And be on the look out too. I will be posting in the new few weeks what I am still looking for and what I have for those of you who are curious!

Recent Pickup Haul!

Recent video game pickups! Need I say more?

GUYS! It’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these.

So I have slowed down a bit just because I haven’t had much time lately to go hunting. I know. It’s just so sad.

This is what I have acquired since my last pickup haul:

IMG_0517

The most exciting thing about this? I am TWO GameCube games away from my 2017 goal of 200 games and hitting 30% complete with the entire collection. TWO GAMES AWAY! And it’s only MAY! Oh my gosh. I honestly didn’t think I would be at this point so soon.

So now I need to re-evaluate my collecting goals for this year.

And those goals are to hopefully (besides non-North American games) shut out some letters of the alphabet. I’m going to try to close out numbers, A, X, and Y. It’s not too many games so I know I’ll be able to do it. Which will be nice so I won’t have to move games around too much at the beginning of my collection anymore. πŸ˜›

Now, on to my pickups. My wonderful and amazing cousin was so gracious to give me the games I didn’t have from what he had of GameCube games (with the stipulation that he can OF COURSE borrow games). Thank you so much best and favorite cousin ever!

Mathew and I also stopped at a game store on our way back from Chicago which resulted in the bulk of my pickup. I was happy to get my sports games closer to complete (that way I don’t have to look at them anymore ;)). I also made the decision to start working on getting my 3DS collection back to where it was before I was robbed. Which is a huge step for me so I am very proud about that. Plus this store had some amazing deals. The prices were good on most games, especially Kingdom Hearts and Pokemon for the 3DS. And on top of that they were doing a buy 3 get 1 free on all used games. Win for me. I was sold. Plus I also try to pick up PSP games that look interesting whenever I find them because they’re honestly quite hard to find and purchase.

Have you guys picked anything up lately? What was it?! What are your collecting goals?

Until Monday, stay classy and sassy ❀

Also have a safe weekend loves!

Comics With Collinswoah13

COMICS ARE LOVE!

Hello guys and welcome!

So today I thought I would talk a little bit about my newest (and definitely not needed) obsession. Comics.

I always stayed away from them for the most part because I knew it was going to be a slippery slope. And I did SO well until the Invader Zim comics came out.

Then I knew I was done for.

And then I discovered the Adventure Time comics.

And the Bob’s Burgers comics.

This is where I have stopped. For now. If you know me then you know that I will not stop for long and it is most definitely only a pause.

I am successfully staying away from the superhero comics just because of the fact that I know that if/when I get into them I will want all of them. From the beginning so I can full immerse myself in the world and know everything. Β A little obsessive, I know BUT I am the kind of person that is all or nothing. Most of the time all.

But comics. Yes. I didn’t realize how inclusive and diverse the comic community is. There is pretty much a comic for everyone. And they’re not a huge investment money or time wise which makes me happy and my wallet happy too. I personally find the Bob’s Burgers one to be a great companion to the show. It’s more centered on the kids as they each get a “chapter” to tell a story that is so them. The Invader Zim comics are just amazing because it’s almost like the show is back! And I just absolutely love Adventure Time so I am always down for more Adventure Time in my life.

I highly recommend you guys check out some comics if you haven’t already and see what’s out there. Broaden your horizons. If you already are into comics TELL ME WHAT YOU READ!

Video Game Organization

How I Organize My Collection

Hi there and welcome friends!

Today I thought I would go over how I organize my video game collection and give you guys some tips on how to organize and optimize what space you have, especially if it is a little bit of space like I am (Seeing as I am confined to one room).

I personally asked myself what I wanted to display most and what I wanted within reach (or close reach). I also wanted everything to look good as well as be close by. I decide I didn’t need my PC games super close by but I did want them to be displayed somehow. I found it important for my GameCube, Wii, Wii U, and handheld games to be displayed prominently as these were the things that would be growing the most as well as what I would be reaching for the most. I wanted all my Sony systems to be close by but not necessarily the focal point of my display.

I personally like to try to use every inch of display space possibly while still being able to see everything. I like to fill in the row on the shelf first and then do columns on top of my rows. This way you can still see everything but you get more on one shelf.

IMG_0510

I will also “hide” some of my games.

I put my PS3 games in these lockers because they’re great for storage. They don’t take up much room and I can fit a lot in them. Plus they are perfect sized for PS3 game cases. And I don’t really use my PS3 as much as my other systems so having them nearby if I want them is great but not having them within reach just makes sense for me.

IMG_0508

I have all my cased PC games in my closet to have them all where I can admire them but not to take up “prime real estate” because I just never need to grab them because of everything being loaded up on my computers and discs just aren’t really necessary anymore.

IMG_0514

I also will “hide” some of my games because I have a lot of “pretties” (like my wonderful Slytherin crest). I like to display my pretty things but I also need places to store my games. So a perfect compromise for me is to have all my PS1 games in one of my organizer cubes and then have some of my pretty display items in front. πŸ™‚

IMG_0513

Making sure my games are in alphabetical order is also key to keeping my collection organized and looking good. It helps me keep track of where things are, what I have and still need, as well as what I have lent out to friends.

Just remember above all to have fun with it. I always enjoy moving things around and organizing things differently. Especially when I get new pretty things.

Let me know what you do to organize your collections! Feel free to leave pictures too! I always need inspiration. πŸ™‚

Pickup Haul With Collinswoah13

Recent Video Game Pickups!

Hello and welcome back my lovelies!!!

Today I have another video game pickup haul for you amazing people!

So here’s the pickups:

009

So it was a pretty good month. Nothing too crazy, except for my Switch purchase. Since you probably cannot tell the names of the titles of the Switch games, they are 1-2 Switch and Breath of the Wild.

Now it was a very interesting time to get my Switch because Gamestop took forever to actually charge me for my Switch so I was hoping a praying they would forget. I know how silly and unlikely that would be but still. The hope was there. Just so you all know, they DID charge me like they should have and I’m relieved because now I don’t have to worry about it anymore. Well, I also ordered my Switch through Gamestop.com which also caused it not to arrive on launch day. Which is fine because I didn’t want to pay a ridiculous amount of money (in my opinion) just to get it on launch day. So it was set to arrive Monday the 6th. With the games. Did that happen? No. The console arrived the 6th. The game arrived the 7th. I. was. not. happy. Now everything is super great and fine so don’t worry. I absolutely love the Switch and will go into that more in my Monday post.

As for my other pickups, I am very happy with them. The ones with the stupid side stickers I happened to pick up in Indy when the boyfriend and I went for his birthday weekend which were over priced BUT I did get a free silver GameCube out of it. Which is obviously not pictured because I am silly and forgot to include it. How did I get a free GameCube you may ask? Well, the wonderful salesman forgot to ring it up. I didn’t realize this until Sunday after we had gotten back to my boyfriend’s place. It kind of hit me all at once with the realization of what had happened. I admit I feel bad because it’s not something I meant to happen. I had been wrapped up in the conversation I was having with my man and didn’t pay close enough attention. I know some of you may think that it’s crazy for me to feel this way but I genuinely wanted/expected to pay for it. It was a small and local game store. I love to support them the best way I know how, buy things, so that they stay in business. But alas, lucky me!

The rest of the games are things that I picked up here and there out of luck. Nothing too too exciting but still it puts me closer and closer to having a complete GameCube collection so it’s exciting to me. Hopefully March brings many good fortunes as the past months! Until Monday, stay classy and sassy y’all. ❀

Collinswoah13’s Video Game Pickups!

Showing my recent pickups

Welcome back my amazing friends!

Today is an exciting day because I am sharing my recent video game pickups! This last month and a half has been super good to me in regards to pickups. My boyfriend surprised me with a Wii U (thanks again, love!) So I took advantage of thatΒ with my pick-ups this month πŸ˜‰

img_0390

img_0363

img_0362

As you can see I picked up quite a few GameCube games which is very exciting for me. Not anything too great, mostly just the filler items in the collection. This most amazing part of this is that in February (just so far) I have brought my GameCube collection to an amazing 25% complete. That’s 166 games. I honestly have a hard time comprehending this because I was at less than 10% complete just 6 months ago. I also have a goal of getting at least 30% complete by the END of 2017 and here we are not even two full months in and I hit 25% complete. Yes I am actively seeking to complete the GameCube library but I’m not going crazy with it.

I also am very happy with my Wii U pickups because everything (with the exception of Tokyo Mirage) were FANTASTIC prices. If you’re looking for a system to collect for, Wii U is a great one to jump on right now. The prices aren’t too bad and people aren’t going crazy for the games yet so the prices aren’t jumping back up. Yet. I’m sure they will at some point.

I also want to point out my Lego Dimensions pickups. I ran across these at Half Price Books for a very good price considering they’re Lego and what they go for at market value regularly. I very much enjoy the game mainly because it’s freaking great but also because I can co-op it with my boyfriend which makes it even better. But we have found ourselves frustrated because I’m a 100%-er and you just can’t do things without certain characters, which is very annoying, and so I have decided IF I can get them at good price points, I will have every Lego Dimensions character. So here we go with another obsession.

I personally am extremely happy with my finds and pickups. All were scored in person and as great deals (or sadly bought at full price ahem, Tokyo Mirage) which both add to the collection and give me the ability to put more back in to making my collection bigger and better. I am super excited to see what the rest of the month of February brings me as well as the beginning of March. Hopefully I am able to bring my GameCube library closer to 30% if not hit it!

Until Monday, have a wonderful weekend friends and as always stay classy and sassy πŸ˜›
