What I’ve Been Playing Wednesday!

Take a look at what I’ve been playing and my opinions on them! ๐Ÿ™‚

Wow. What a two weeks.

You’ll all be happy to know I got some great gaming in. Some good games, some not so good in the sense that they weren’t what I was expecting or looking to play at the time.

Let’s get right to it!

GameCube: Ribbit King – I don’t know what I was expecting with this game honestly but I wasn’t expecting what I got. I had always been told that if I enjoyed Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon then I’d really enjoy Ribbit King. So in my mind it’s somehow similar to the two. Well that’s just not right at all. In Ribbit King, you just play a golf like game. That’s all you do. Which is cool and great if that’s what you wanted turning it on and that’s what you expected. But I didn’t. I was just really disappointed with it. Maybe when it’s what I’m looking to play I’ll like it but for now I’m just happy to have it as part of the collection.

GameCube: Sims 2 Pets – This game turned out similar to Ribbit King for me; not what I was expecting or wanted at the time. I am just so used to Sims games on the console having a story mode and a free play mode. I personally stick to the story mode because I’d much rather play “free play mode” on the PC in the traditional Sims. So when I turned on the Sims 2 Pets and was met with no story mode I was surprised. And then I immediately turned off the game, no joke. If I wanted to play a traditional Sims game I would turn on my computer where it’s easier to control, not my GameCube.

PC: GTA V Online – I hadn’t played this in so long on the PC that I had forgotten a lot of the controls which made playing again a lot of fun. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I also was finally able to play with Mathew and my family which makes the game that much more fun. I have a long way to go to get my character back to where I’m used to being but in the mean time, I’m really enjoying causing mayhem and destruction wherever I go. And I can’t forget about the random goofy glitches. Random gaggle of skydiver NPCs dropping from the sky anyone?

PC: Golf With Your Friends – So there’s a new level and a new game mode that’s been added. Like what?! YES! First let’s discuss the new level, which is a prehistoric level and it’s a lot of fun with all the twists and turns and trick shots you can make. BUT it’s really hard. ย As I’ve said before, the game is still in Beta so tweaks can and will be made and with a couple of these holes on this level really need it! The last level especially. It seems almost impossible to make it through with 12 strokes and two minutes. Now for the new game mode. It’s called dunk. So instead of having a hole to put your ball in to (that’s what she said, I’m not sorry, it had to be said ;)) You bounce your ball in to the basketball hoop. It’s hard because the hit area seems to be kind of flawed but it’s a lot of fun. I can’t wait to try all the levels out this way. It takes a lot of the work out of navigating through the levels. Your bounces most definitely have to be times just right through!

PC: Sims 4 – The Sims 4 Parenthood pack just came out so I, of course, had to give it a go. The Sims is getting extremely real for those of use who play with families. You now have a parenting skill you can build up! There are so many new interactions with children and it’s honestly now a lot harder to raise kids. You have all this influence over your child but at the same time there’s so many things that just aren’t in your control at all. There are not phases that your child can go through, they ask for advice, they have different things that can be influenced like emotional control, manners, etc. A lot of the time one thing will be influenced positively while something else will be influenced negatively at the same time. It’s a lot of ย fun and brings a lot more challenge to the Sims 4 so, as of right now I’m currently still enjoying what I’m experiencing. We will see if that changes. ๐Ÿ˜›

What I’ve Been Playing

Recent playings of the video games!

Today is Wednesday and you know what that means! Either I’m doing a favorite games OR a what I’ve been playing. And based on the title it’s a what I’ve been playing Wednesday!!!

So what have I been playing?

PC: HuniePop – You can thank my boyfriend for this one. I found it on his Steam and couldn’t help but play it. I legitimately called it his waifu for laifu game. Yeah, I’m just so nice ๐Ÿ˜› This game is hilarious and really entertaining. It’s a puzzle game for those who don’t know. A game where you complete puzzles to have successful dates with the women that you are trying to make fall in love with you. But really it’s just to get in their panties, let’s be honest. The puzzles get progressively difficult, you have the say the right things to the right girls, remember things that they tell you (which is hard when you have like seven girls), and complete the puzzle successfully in the deemed amount of moves. If you don’t you have a bad date and wasted some time and a (what will later be deemed) easy puzzle. I like it, I recommend it. It’s fun and very fun to make fun of ๐Ÿ˜›

GameCube: Sims 2 – I recently have been watching a YouTuber that I follow play this game and it pushed me to play it again. Oh my gosh. So much nostalgia. This game was so annoying but so much fun. It was different than the Sims on PC. How you ask? There was an actual story line. You used a controller. You had to do certain things to progress the game further and you didn’t stay living in one place. Sometimes you controlled all the Sims in the household and sometimes you did not. Which was an interesting concept to me, especially back then. I recommend highly for those who don’t want to delve completely in to the Sims pool. This is a good foot in to start with.

Switch: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – This game is easily, in my opinion, the best Mario Kart game out. I instantly fell in love with Mario Kart 8 because it was both beautiful and fun. How cool is it to go zero gravity? Answer: REALLY COOL! I think the levels are the right balance of easy to medium to harder. You have a gradual curve especially within the cups. I also appreciated the fact that there wasn’t such a harsh learning curve when it came to the different cups. I have found in previous Mario Karts that the difference between 50cc and 100cc is way too much. The upgraded installment on the Switch adds a couple things that I had wished they had put in on the Wii U version such as multiple item slots. Having two item slots is like a complete game changer. It just adds so much more to the game. Like giving the person in first two opportunities to have coins instead of one ๐Ÿ˜‰ Go out and try it when you get the chance!

Not too many games this time around but at least I was able to squeeze some gaming time in! Better than nothing!

Share what you’ve been playing! Tell me what I absolutely have to try!

What I’ve Been Playing Wednesday!

Look at what I’ve been playing!

Another Wednesday, another day to talk about the video games that I have been playing recently! What a wonderful day!

Let’s just jump right on in.

PS4: Kingdom Hearts Final Mix – So, last time I said I was watching Mathew play this more but this time I played it more. Mathew has blown through the game up until Atlantica. And Atlantica was my favorite world, I absolutely love The Little Mermaid so much so of course I’m going to play this world. Well because Mathew has been such a boss and blown through the game, we areย slightly under leveled for big giant Ursula. And the constant dying while trying to beat her is both amazing and embarrassing. Of course the conclusion that we are under leveled only came after I died about five thousand times and Mathew about three. And of course I was beyond frustrated at that point so grinding to level up was the last thing I wanted to do so the controller went right back to my even-keeled man. And then shortly after we decided to be done for the time being but that’s besides the point ๐Ÿ˜›

PC: Broken Age –ย  I have a huge love, admiration, and respect for Double Fine. So naturally I must own and play all of their games right? It’s a no-brainer I picked up this game when it was on sale on Steam most recently. (It was like super cheap guys, great deal) As soon as I purchased the game and got it downloaded, I started playing it. I really enjoy the appearance of the game. Double Fine’s art and design is something that I think I love the most about their games. That and the enjoyable stories. This game specifically is wonderful because it’s two (so far) stories that you can swap back and forth between. This is great because with it being a point-and-click adventure, often times I find myself to get in those frustrating moments of not knowing what to do but not wanting to quit or look up the answer so I am then able to just swap to the other character and try to advance that story.

PC: Toontown Rewritten – Okay, so for those of you who do not know what Toontown is, your childhood was terrible. Just kidding. I grew up playing Toontown which was a MMORPG through Disney. It was very kid friendly. No cursing, no numbers to be used, you weren’t able to give personal information about yourself none of that, which was great for parents. Well the character in the game were toons; dogs, cats, horses, pigs, ducks and a couple others, I think. In tradition cartoon character style they had gloved hands and these were the good guys, the playable characters. You got to design your character some and pick a silly name and off you went. There were tasks to follow to help you along, your weapons were gags things like pies, squirting flowers, things to drop on foes, etc. You used your weapons on the bad guys which were called cogs, there were different types of bag guys, bossbots, lawbots, sellbots, and cashbots. They all made fun of boring adults in corporate America. You as your toon were basically fighting against the mundane corporate America with your happiness, laughter and gags. It was fun and silly and I absolutely adored this game as a child. Well in true Disney fashion they pulled the plug on the game and it all went away. Until I found project Toontown Rewritten. This project has brought the game that I loved to dearly back to life and I am able to play it whenever and for free. I go through period where I am all about the game and then won’t touch it because since its a MMORPG it’s very grindy and I personally can only take so much of that before I am bored and need to move on with something more stimulating to me. I currently have to defeat 900 cogs, 300 cogs in cashbot HQ, 100 5 story buildings, 150 4+ story buildings. So it’s quite a lot of the same thing over and over right now. ๐Ÿ˜‰

What have you been playing? Anything I should be playing? What do you think of these games?

April Favorites!

What I loved in April!

Hello my lovely friends! I know I have been slacking with my monthly favorites but they are back!!

Nerdย Favorites:

Game Pickup: Probably my Mario Kart 8 Deluxe that I just got today actually. I think that this is seriously my best pickup in awhile. And most exciting. I went to my local Target near my work this morning and stood in line waiting for it to open just to pick up the game. AND get the puzzle cube that came with it. That’s what I was really after honestly. And it did NOT disappoint. I got that puzzle cube and I love the puzzle cube. I really think it’s one of the best pre-order offered items that I have seen in awhile. Most of the time I don’t care and I definitely don’t like paying full price for a game buuuuuut once in awhile things are worth it and you just gotta bite the bullet. So I did just that.

Comics: So I just decided to go down the very slippery slope of comic books. And lord help us all. I specifically have gotten into Bob’s Burgers, Invader Zim and Adventure Time. And oh my goodness, they’re all super cute and so great to read! I highly recommend them. I do have to say that I’m very proud of myself for not decided to collect, buy and read a superhero comic. That would be so much more worse than what I am currently doing. ๐Ÿ˜› But I have found this new found hobby and interest to be a lot of fun and really rewarding. And the reading isn’t half bad either ๐Ÿ˜‰

Nerd Moment: C2E2 and meeting Evanna Lynch. I think that is in the top 10 of all my nerdy moments in my life so far. Meeting her, being able to take a picture with her and attending her panel meant so much to me. The Harry Potter fandom has always had a very very special place in my heart. It is honestly practically impossible for me to put in to words what all it means to me and why it is so important to me so I honestly am not going to even try. It was nice to know that so many of the things that I have struggled with and still struggle with, she has gone through and understands. I know it’s silly but it really resonated with me. It just helped confirm my love for the fandom even more.

Media Favorites:

Music: “Stay” by Zedd ft. Alessia Cara: I have been obsessed with this song. Just ask Mathew. He has had to suffer through this song so many times that I think he’s far beyond over it. But me? I can’t get enough. I love the music, her voice, the vocal arrangement, just everything. My only problem is it is so catchy that it gets stuck in my hear almost constantly. Which is why I listen to it so much. To try to get it out of my head.

TV: Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: I honestly LOVE reality TV. Yes, I have SOME shame in it but not that much! I don’t get much time to watch TV as I prefer to because I would rather play video games and watch YouTube videos in my limited free time. But with everything going on in the last month or so I wanted an escape that didn’t require much brain power. Hence the reality TV. And the Housewives shows have always been a favorite go to for me. Especially Beverly Hills. Thank you Kyle Richards and Lisa Vanderpump. The drama makes me feel quite a lot better about my own life which was the goal. So win for me!

Book: This Is Where It Ends by Marieke Nijkamp: I have always been drawn to books with darker premises and this is no exception. This book is very powerful as it takes place in the perspective of four different high school kids in the span of 55 minutes during a school shooting. Yeah. Its very intense and a very quick read but it is a fantastic one. I can’t recommend this book enough. It’s very sad and scary but it really puts things into perspective. It makes you think about what really matters and how the stupid and trivial things that we worry about so much every single day just don’t even really matter in the grand scheme of things. The author did a very good job and wrote it beautifully. I think she captured the emotions perfectly and didn’t leave the reader disappointed with anything, but most definitely not the ending. This has quickly become one of my favorite reads and earned a spot on my bookshelf.

Makeup:

Katy Perry Katy Kat Mascara: OMG! This mascara is magic. Seriously. I fell in love with it. The wand is a little peculiar but it goes on so well and makes my eyelashes pop so so so much! It doesn’t clump and smooths out my eyelashes perfectly making it look like my own lashes au natural.

Brown eyeliner, specifically Colour Pop’s Mr. Bing crayon eyeliner: I have always been a black eyeliner girl. Exclusively black eyeliner. I never tried any other color because why? Black is classic. It’s classy. It works with everything. And then I got this beauty in my Ipsy glam bag. I decided to be more adventurous rather than complain and I am so glad that I did! The brown outlines my eyes really well and makes the green in my eyes pop. Which is always what I am striving for. Which now I am able to do that more!

Goddess Gold by INT Cosmetics eyeshadow: Another pleasant surprise from my Ipsy glam. It is very pigmented, very easy to apply, stays in place, and wears well. I use it as an all-over lid color and like I said it stays in place and lasts all day. Which is definitely something that I find is hard to achieve.

What are some of your favorite things from this past month? What are your thoughts on my favorites? Let me know!

Stay classy and sassy!

Whatcha Been Playing Wednesday

What I’ve been playing!

I had some pretty good chill time lately which means some wonderful gaming time was able to be squeezed in which is always great!

PC: Sims 3 – I had a problem with my new build PC where it didn’t want to play the Sims 4. Which was annoying but fine because I had the Sims 3 and all the add-ons for the Sims 3 to play instead. So I did. Turns out that I had some kinks to work out with the Sims 3 as well but I got them all figured out and it’s all good. I forgot how much I had missed the Sims 3 andย just how muchย I like it more than the Sims 4. I started a household with the intention on trying to complete the 100 baby challenge. If you don’t know what that is, it is just like it sounds. You have a Sim and try to have that Sim to parent 100 babies within that Sim’s life cycle. I personally have never completed it due to technology issues in the past. My Sim, Delilah currently just completed her degree in fine arts from university, adopted a puppy and is eager awaiting her first child. She does have a job in the film career path and ironically her boss is the soon-to-be dad to her child. So much drama! It’s great. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

PC: Pajama Sam 3: You Are What You Eat From Your Head to Your Feet – Yes. I did play this. Why you ask? The boyfriend and I were reminiscing about old computer games, especially the old point-and-click adventures and we both decided we wanted to relive some of those “glory” days. I had forgotten just how cutesy and adorable Humongous Entertainment games were. Such a shame that they don’t exist anymore.

PS4: Kingdom Hearts Final Mix – This one I haven’t played too much of myself. I’ve been watching Mathew play it more. The PS4 remaster of this is just so beautiful. I have fan girled so hard over this game. I can’t get over the amazing changes from the regular game vs. the final mix and then the remaster look on top of it all. It’s been a blast to relive all the great and frustrating moments of one of my favorite games with one of my most favorite people in the world.

Wii U: Paper Mario Color Splash – Like this is a surprise anymore. But I am so close to being done with this game! I finally surpassed Larry and man was that frustrating. I made it through more levels all the way to the last giant Paint Star (which is the green one for me!) to Lemmy. OH MY GOODNESS. This is proving to be difficult for me. So needless to say this is where I am stuck and where I have abandoned the game for now.

Not too many games have been played but quite a few hours have been logged on each of these. Many fun times and new memories have been made. That’s honestly one of the great things about gaming to me. The memories created while playing. And the story lines of course ๐Ÿ˜‰

Video Game Organization

How I Organize My Collection

Hi there and welcome friends!

Today I thought I would go over how I organize my video game collection and give you guys some tips on how to organize and optimize what space you have, especially if it is a little bit of space like I am (Seeing as I am confined to one room).

I personally asked myself what I wanted to display most and what I wanted within reach (or close reach). I also wanted everything to look good as well as be close by. I decide I didn’t need my PC games super close by but I did want them to be displayed somehow. I found it important for my GameCube, Wii, Wii U, and handheld games to be displayed prominently as these were the things that would be growing the most as well as what I would be reaching for the most. I wanted all my Sony systems to be close by but not necessarily the focal point of my display.

I personally like to try to use every inch of display space possibly while still being able to see everything. I like to fill in the row on the shelf first and then do columns on top of my rows. This way you can still see everything but you get more on one shelf.

IMG_0510

I will also “hide” some of my games.

I put my PS3 games in these lockers because they’re great for storage. They don’t take up much room and I can fit a lot in them. Plus they are perfect sized for PS3 game cases. And I don’t really use my PS3 as much as my other systems so having them nearby if I want them is great but not having them within reach just makes sense for me.

IMG_0508

I have all my cased PC games in my closet to have them all where I can admire them but not to take up “prime real estate” because I just never need to grab them because of everything being loaded up on my computers and discs just aren’t really necessary anymore.

IMG_0514

I also will “hide” some of my games because I have a lot of “pretties” (like my wonderful Slytherin crest). I like to display my pretty things but I also need places to store my games. So a perfect compromise for me is to have all my PS1 games in one of my organizer cubes and then have some of my pretty display items in front. ๐Ÿ™‚

IMG_0513

Making sure my games are in alphabetical order is also key to keeping my collection organized and looking good. It helps me keep track of where things are, what I have and still need, as well as what I have lent out to friends.

Just remember above all to have fun with it. I always enjoy moving things around and organizing things differently. Especially when I get new pretty things.

Let me know what you do to organize your collections! Feel free to leave pictures too! I always need inspiration. ๐Ÿ™‚

More PC Speak!

Learn more about my PC!

Hello and welcome back my wonderful and amazing friends!

So remember before when I talked about my experience with PC gaming and how I said that my PC was not done?

Well.

The time has come. And it is done.

All done. And I am in love.

So this thing has come together because of some pretty amazing people. First of which is my Dad because without him, I would not have my motherboard. Second of which is my amazing and loving man, Mathew. Both of them worked to piece this thing out and Mathew had the patience to teach me how to put most of this thing together. Because I know I was frustrating with it. But it’s together. And I actually had a hand in it. Which is amazing in itself because of the fact that I have never had a hand in building any of my PCs before. And this is the first PC that I have had since I was ending middle school/my freshman year of high school. And that’s quite a time back.

But let’s get in to the fun things about this PC build. What the heck I actually put in it.

I have an ASUS 270 Maximus motherboard. It’s freaking beautiful. Lights and everything. Like omg.

My CPU is an Intel i-7 7700k.

There is also 16GBs of EVGA super clocked RAM.

Some super pretty purple LED fans.

A hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler.

Corsair 650 watt semi-modular power supply.

500GB M.2 Samsung 850 EVO SSD.

500GB Western Digital hard disk drive.

And the best part; my boyfriend’s old ASUS Strix R9 380 4GB.

And that is my PC.

She’s beautiful and my friend and I am very attached to her already.

Except that graphics card. That WILL be changed. Hopefully in June or July. But it will do it’s job for now. And oh man does it.

Let me know your thoughts and what y’all are rocking! ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you all have a wonderful and amazing weekend! Stay classy and sassy as always โค
