Life Update!

Check out what I’ve been up to lately!

Hello all!

So what’s been new with me…

Well first and foremost if you didn’t see my big announcement blog… I opened my Etsy shop! NerdCentral13! Well guys, I SOLD MY FIRST ITEM! I had a lovely lady contact me about making a custom order for her. What was that custom order you ask?! A Lilligant pot. Like the Pokemon! Well I finished her up and shipped her out so take a look!

As you obviously can see, I do take custom orders and I am happy to attempt any and all feats you might request of me!

I also have had the pleasure of seeing some pretty cool places.

First up was Loveland Castle in Loveland, Ohio.

This is where Mathew and I most recently were able to see Mikey Mason perform. Which was amazing. Like always!

Mathew was sweet enough to take us on a little day trip to Louisville for Memorial day, which I picked up A LOT of games if you did not see that, CHECK IT OUT. Don’t worry. I’ll wait… we got to see some amazing views of the city, both fell in love with Louisville. But only at a distance. I will love visiting but do NOT want to move there. It just seemed so empty almost every where we went. It was strange. Sadly I didn’t get any pictures but I did get to enjoy the day with my man and that’s what matters. Some times its better to live in the moment than to document the moment. And it just means we will have to go back just so I can capture some of those magnificent views on camera!

And last but not least, Mathew and I made a trip out to Indy to pick up his mom from the airport and we were able to go a little early and make it to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to go to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. This was an amazing experience. Not only did we get to check out the museum BUT there was also a couple events going on that day which meant we got to see some cars out on the track. I was just overwhelmed by everything. It was too cool to watch the cars out on the track! They also had an event with Jaguar and Range Rover where they had some really nice Jags that YOU COULD DRIVE! But sadly we didn’t have enough time nor did we have closed toed shoes to do the event.

Mathew and I have been trying to make sure we have at least one adventure a month and I would say we have done a pretty great job at that so far.

I just can’t say enough how lucky am I to have this life. I love what I get to do and experience and I am forever thankful for that. Especially because of who I get to experience these moments with.

Let’s see where the next month or so takes us.

What I’ve Been Playing Wednesday!

Take a look at what I’ve been playing and my opinions on them! πŸ™‚

Wow. What a two weeks.

You’ll all be happy to know I got some great gaming in. Some good games, some not so good in the sense that they weren’t what I was expecting or looking to play at the time.

Let’s get right to it!

GameCube: Ribbit King – I don’t know what I was expecting with this game honestly but I wasn’t expecting what I got. I had always been told that if I enjoyed Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon then I’d really enjoy Ribbit King. So in my mind it’s somehow similar to the two. Well that’s just not right at all. In Ribbit King, you just play a golf like game. That’s all you do. Which is cool and great if that’s what you wanted turning it on and that’s what you expected. But I didn’t. I was just really disappointed with it. Maybe when it’s what I’m looking to play I’ll like it but for now I’m just happy to have it as part of the collection.

GameCube: Sims 2 Pets – This game turned out similar to Ribbit King for me; not what I was expecting or wanted at the time. I am just so used to Sims games on the console having a story mode and a free play mode. I personally stick to the story mode because I’d much rather play “free play mode” on the PC in the traditional Sims. So when I turned on the Sims 2 Pets and was met with no story mode I was surprised. And then I immediately turned off the game, no joke. If I wanted to play a traditional Sims game I would turn on my computer where it’s easier to control, not my GameCube.

PC: GTA V Online – I hadn’t played this in so long on the PC that I had forgotten a lot of the controls which made playing again a lot of fun. πŸ˜‰ I also was finally able to play with Mathew and my family which makes the game that much more fun. I have a long way to go to get my character back to where I’m used to being but in the mean time, I’m really enjoying causing mayhem and destruction wherever I go. And I can’t forget about the random goofy glitches. Random gaggle of skydiver NPCs dropping from the sky anyone?

PC: Golf With Your Friends – So there’s a new level and a new game mode that’s been added. Like what?! YES! First let’s discuss the new level, which is a prehistoric level and it’s a lot of fun with all the twists and turns and trick shots you can make. BUT it’s really hard. Β As I’ve said before, the game is still in Beta so tweaks can and will be made and with a couple of these holes on this level really need it! The last level especially. It seems almost impossible to make it through with 12 strokes and two minutes. Now for the new game mode. It’s called dunk. So instead of having a hole to put your ball in to (that’s what she said, I’m not sorry, it had to be said ;)) You bounce your ball in to the basketball hoop. It’s hard because the hit area seems to be kind of flawed but it’s a lot of fun. I can’t wait to try all the levels out this way. It takes a lot of the work out of navigating through the levels. Your bounces most definitely have to be times just right through!

PC: Sims 4 – The Sims 4 Parenthood pack just came out so I, of course, had to give it a go. The Sims is getting extremely real for those of use who play with families. You now have a parenting skill you can build up! There are so many new interactions with children and it’s honestly now a lot harder to raise kids. You have all this influence over your child but at the same time there’s so many things that just aren’t in your control at all. There are not phases that your child can go through, they ask for advice, they have different things that can be influenced like emotional control, manners, etc. A lot of the time one thing will be influenced positively while something else will be influenced negatively at the same time. It’s a lot of Β fun and brings a lot more challenge to the Sims 4 so, as of right now I’m currently still enjoying what I’m experiencing. We will see if that changes. πŸ˜›

Favorite Games

Let me tell you about Harvest Moon on the GameCube!

Hello my wonderful and favorite friends!

Today I’m going to tell you about another game near and dear to my heart. The Harvest Moon series in general BUT specifically Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life.

Remember the string of games that I talked about before that if you explain them to others they don’t sound that fun or interesting? Well this one falls in to that category. But I promise it is fun. At least I find it fun.

So! What is this game you ask? Well, it’s kind of like a farming sim/RPG. In this installment you are taking over your father’s barren farm after he passes. You leave your city life to come to the country to run this farm. You’re not alone in your efforts. You have Takaura helping you. He had worked for your father and had been a good friend to him. He does what he can to help you succeed by taking things into the city to sell them, giving you information and advice, etc.

While you are tending to your farm you can also go fishing, build relationships with the villagers, excavate in the dig site, and find love.

Now when it comes to farm life you can raise animals and harvest crops. With the animals you can sheer your sheep, milk your cows, and sell the eggs that your chickens lay. Some animals are just for companionship like a cat, a dog, and ducks.

As you’re more successful on your farm you can buy things and buy upgrades to make life easier such as a milking room for your cows or a cheese room where you can make cheese for higher profits.

There’s also a cooking mechanic to keep your stamina up so you’re able to do more around the farm. Different ingredients and combinations of ingredients will produce different outcomes, a lot of them bad outcomes in my personal experience πŸ˜›

The game likes in a calendar like way. There are four “months” which also act as seasons so you work your way through years and your life. You get married and have a child in the game. The child is your heir basically. The cool thing is, you get to pick your wife based on the three eligible bachelorettes in the village and your relationship with them. Some are easier to win other than others and they each have a distinct personality of their own. Who you marry also determines how your child looks and some of their personality. You as the play are able to influence their personality with toys, your friends, and how you care for your little one.

This game has a lot to it but it’s a lot of fun. There’s a mini game or two to keep things interesting as well. You get to watch the village change and flourish. You get to directly see your hard work pay off with how your farm looks which is something I really enjoy. The different personalities of the villagers are fun and humorous to see their moods and how they react to certain things.

I find the replay value of this game to be high because I always want to do better than I did the last time I played. Or I want to try something different, end up with a different lady, raise my kid differently, make my farm different, etc. The possibilities are endless.

May Favorites!

Things I’ve Been Loving in May!

Hello and welcome!

I can’t believe we are already in June! Oh my gosh. Where has the year gone?! I know it’s a little late BUT I’m going to share what I loved in May!

Media Favorites:

Comedy Rockstar Mikey Mason – I’ve talked about Mikey Mason before but this guy is a fabulous performer. He never disappoints. I always look forward to any show he has whether its online or in person, Mikey will deliver. He will entertain you and he will make you laugh. It does help that his songs are great and catchy too. If you love nerdy things, love comedy, and love music, he’s great for you. He’s also a really nice guy which helps πŸ˜› Be sure to check him out here.

Twitch Streamer SheriffEli – So I happened to stumble across this guy when browsing Twitch trying to find someone new to watch and oh my goodness was I happy to find him. SheriffEli is a full time streamer who primarily roleplays as a cop in Grand Theft Auto V online. He’s got a great personality and a wonderful presence. He’s funny, got a filthy mouth and can get a little raunchy at times. But I personally really enjoy him. To the point that I will watch him rather than watch TV, I find him that enjoyable. Check out his channel here.

Gaming Favorites:

Razer BlackWidow Chroma Gaming Keyboard – This keyboard is my favorite keyboard ever! It’s beautiful. They layout is different slightly from a traditional keyboard but I find myself loving it more. My hands actually tend to gravitate more towards this layout, so typing at work always takes about 10-15 minutes to get used to every day. It’s clicky which I really enjoy hearing. Especially when it drives others crazy. I’m evil, I know. It’s ascetically pleasing and best of all? It’s mine. It’s not a hand-me down, it’s not on loan, it’s not been used before. It’s mine, all mine and it was new!

HuniePop – I talked about this game in my last What I’ve Been Playing Wednesday post. I enjoy this game way too much. And I need to just go ahead and break down and buy it because waiting to play it at the boyfriend’s house is just too long and too much. I’m not that patient. This game is addicting! You try to woo these girls so you can get in their pants. How do you do that you ask?! You play puzzles on the dates with them, obviously! The puzzles get harder and harder as you move forward in the game. And they get harder even when you fail and don’t move forward in the game. It’s challenging and fun. Plus the girls are cute and fun.

Beauty Favorites:

Sheet Face Masks – Lately when I have been going to do face masks I have been preferring the sheet ones. There’s very little mess and they’re just so easy. Plus they hydrate my skin so well. AND you look like a monster when you have them on. What could be better?! I haven’t really been preferring any specific brand over the others. If it’s a sheet mask, then it’s up my alley and I love it. At least currently.

Galaxy Lush Bath Bomb – So I don’t know if that’s the actual name of it but this is my favorite bath bomb. My allergies have been a little crazy lately because of Ohio’s lack of ability to make a decision about the weather, so these bath bombs have been saving me. It seems like they have menthol or mint of some kind in them helping to clear me up and soothe both my insides and out πŸ™‚ It really calms me and helps clear up congestion and sinus pressure. And it makes my bath look like a galaxy. Seriously, it makes it look like I’m bathing in space. How cool is that? Answer: REALLY COOL!

So there you have it. Not too many things but not too little things. Unfortunately I didn’t get time to really read this month BUT DON’T PANIC! I will make time to read this month!

Love you guys and as always, stay classy and sassy ❀

What I’ve Been Playing

Recent playings of the video games!

Today is Wednesday and you know what that means! Either I’m doing a favorite games OR a what I’ve been playing. And based on the title it’s a what I’ve been playing Wednesday!!!

So what have I been playing?

PC: HuniePop – You can thank my boyfriend for this one. I found it on his Steam and couldn’t help but play it. I legitimately called it his waifu for laifu game. Yeah, I’m just so nice πŸ˜› This game is hilarious and really entertaining. It’s a puzzle game for those who don’t know. A game where you complete puzzles to have successful dates with the women that you are trying to make fall in love with you. But really it’s just to get in their panties, let’s be honest. The puzzles get progressively difficult, you have the say the right things to the right girls, remember things that they tell you (which is hard when you have like seven girls), and complete the puzzle successfully in the deemed amount of moves. If you don’t you have a bad date and wasted some time and a (what will later be deemed) easy puzzle. I like it, I recommend it. It’s fun and very fun to make fun of πŸ˜›

GameCube: Sims 2 – I recently have been watching a YouTuber that I follow play this game and it pushed me to play it again. Oh my gosh. So much nostalgia. This game was so annoying but so much fun. It was different than the Sims on PC. How you ask? There was an actual story line. You used a controller. You had to do certain things to progress the game further and you didn’t stay living in one place. Sometimes you controlled all the Sims in the household and sometimes you did not. Which was an interesting concept to me, especially back then. I recommend highly for those who don’t want to delve completely in to the Sims pool. This is a good foot in to start with.

Switch: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – This game is easily, in my opinion, the best Mario Kart game out. I instantly fell in love with Mario Kart 8 because it was both beautiful and fun. How cool is it to go zero gravity? Answer: REALLY COOL! I think the levels are the right balance of easy to medium to harder. You have a gradual curve especially within the cups. I also appreciated the fact that there wasn’t such a harsh learning curve when it came to the different cups. I have found in previous Mario Karts that the difference between 50cc and 100cc is way too much. The upgraded installment on the Switch adds a couple things that I had wished they had put in on the Wii U version such as multiple item slots. Having two item slots is like a complete game changer. It just adds so much more to the game. Like giving the person in first two opportunities to have coins instead of one πŸ˜‰ Go out and try it when you get the chance!

Not too many games this time around but at least I was able to squeeze some gaming time in! Better than nothing!

Share what you’ve been playing! Tell me what I absolutely have to try!

Favorite Games!

Talking about Sleeping Dogs!

Hello my lovely friends both new and old!

Have you every played Sleeping Dogs?! It is seriously one of my favorite and most recommended games. So if you haven’t played it, finish reading this post and then go do it. Seriously. Do it. You won’t regret it.

The best way that I can describe Sleeping Dogs is Grand Theft Auto meets LA Noire, kind of. So the game is set in in Hong Kong and you are Wei Shen, a cop who has ties to the gang known as the Triad. You are to go undercover and rise through the ranks of the triad, gathering information while also doing some police work. All while staying under that radar.

This game is insanely fun. There are a lot of different aspects to the game which keep it fun and exciting. You can go sing karaoke, train your martial arts skills, find lock boxes to break in to, etc. One of the coolest things in my opinion is the fact that you can jump from vehicle to vehicle, even while driving. It makes running from the police quite fun. I think the combat in the game is quite challenging because you are put in situations where it is you against many people. You’d think guns, that makes that super simple. Yeah well guns are far and few between so you have to rely on your hand-to-hand combat skills. And sometimes melee weapons. But those are usually weak. By weak I mean a woman’s handbag. Yes. Seriously.

The story line of the game keeps you playing; wanting to find out what happens next and how the story progresses. You find yourself getting attached to these gang members and wanting the best for them and growing sad when things don’t go the best of ways. I happily play this game over and over again and personally never grow tired of it. I think it’s a no-brainer to play if you love the Grand Theft Auto games.

What I’ve Been Playing Wednesday!

Look at what I’ve been playing!

Another Wednesday, another day to talk about the video games that I have been playing recently! What a wonderful day!

Let’s just jump right on in.

PS4: Kingdom Hearts Final Mix – So, last time I said I was watching Mathew play this more but this time I played it more. Mathew has blown through the game up until Atlantica. And Atlantica was my favorite world, I absolutely love The Little Mermaid so much so of course I’m going to play this world. Well because Mathew has been such a boss and blown through the game, we areΒ slightly under leveled for big giant Ursula. And the constant dying while trying to beat her is both amazing and embarrassing. Of course the conclusion that we are under leveled only came after I died about five thousand times and Mathew about three. And of course I was beyond frustrated at that point so grinding to level up was the last thing I wanted to do so the controller went right back to my even-keeled man. And then shortly after we decided to be done for the time being but that’s besides the point πŸ˜›

PC: Broken Age –Β  I have a huge love, admiration, and respect for Double Fine. So naturally I must own and play all of their games right? It’s a no-brainer I picked up this game when it was on sale on Steam most recently. (It was like super cheap guys, great deal) As soon as I purchased the game and got it downloaded, I started playing it. I really enjoy the appearance of the game. Double Fine’s art and design is something that I think I love the most about their games. That and the enjoyable stories. This game specifically is wonderful because it’s two (so far) stories that you can swap back and forth between. This is great because with it being a point-and-click adventure, often times I find myself to get in those frustrating moments of not knowing what to do but not wanting to quit or look up the answer so I am then able to just swap to the other character and try to advance that story.

PC: Toontown Rewritten – Okay, so for those of you who do not know what Toontown is, your childhood was terrible. Just kidding. I grew up playing Toontown which was a MMORPG through Disney. It was very kid friendly. No cursing, no numbers to be used, you weren’t able to give personal information about yourself none of that, which was great for parents. Well the character in the game were toons; dogs, cats, horses, pigs, ducks and a couple others, I think. In tradition cartoon character style they had gloved hands and these were the good guys, the playable characters. You got to design your character some and pick a silly name and off you went. There were tasks to follow to help you along, your weapons were gags things like pies, squirting flowers, things to drop on foes, etc. You used your weapons on the bad guys which were called cogs, there were different types of bag guys, bossbots, lawbots, sellbots, and cashbots. They all made fun of boring adults in corporate America. You as your toon were basically fighting against the mundane corporate America with your happiness, laughter and gags. It was fun and silly and I absolutely adored this game as a child. Well in true Disney fashion they pulled the plug on the game and it all went away. Until I found project Toontown Rewritten. This project has brought the game that I loved to dearly back to life and I am able to play it whenever and for free. I go through period where I am all about the game and then won’t touch it because since its a MMORPG it’s very grindy and I personally can only take so much of that before I am bored and need to move on with something more stimulating to me. I currently have to defeat 900 cogs, 300 cogs in cashbot HQ, 100 5 story buildings, 150 4+ story buildings. So it’s quite a lot of the same thing over and over right now. πŸ˜‰

What have you been playing? Anything I should be playing? What do you think of these games?
